How to Introduce Problem Based Learning in the Classes of the Department of English Language Education
This is a basic research to consider ways to employ Problem Based Learning (PBL) in the classes of the Department of English Language Education. Usually PBL deals with actual problems in society for its themes, and in order to find suitable themes it is necessary to grasp the amount of knowledge learners have. In the second section we take up the problem of how to assess learners' prior knowledge. In the third, fourth, and fifth sections we present the material that could be used in classes, the manners to construct classes, and the plans of syllabi for classes. From the PBL point of view we explore ways to nurture global human resources in the sixth section, and in the seventh section we propose course designs employing PBL for seminar classes. In the last section we report the practice case of PBL introduced in a teacher-training course. |
