OECD's Schleicher articulates that "educational success is no longer about reproducing content knowledge, but about extrapolating what we know and applying that knowledge to novel situations"(2010, p.2). The traditional educator is undergoing a metamorphosis into its new form of encompassing creative and critical approaches utilizing 21st century skills (Partnership for 21st Century Skills, n.d.) and project-based learning methods. Consequently a dilemma exists over how to measure 21st century skills, specifically the 4Cs: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. This paper will address formative assessments in PBL and methods in measuring 21st century skills and global competency. |
