Summary

This study compares the effectiveness of explicit and implicit listening training. One of the presenters implemented explicit listening strategy training in their English classes while the other asked students to listen to graded reader aural input (i.e., extensive listening. ). The results suggest that a combination of explicit and implicit training are most effective for raising learners' listening efficacy.
