After studied neuroscience at Kyoto University, started electrophysiological researches in primates at the National Institute for Physiological Sciences, Japan. In 2008, obtained a Ph.D. for the study on "Cortical and spinal contributions to the voluntary control of grasping in primates". Research interests; neural control of movements (muscle synergies, feedback control).
