Summary

This study aimed to examine the role of travel retreats and lodges, particularly the potential of ELs, using ELs in Tanzania as a case study. Travel retreats can play a role in maintaining individual resilience in that they can be offered temporarily, and eco-lodges can contribute not only to environmental conservation and local communities as lodging facilities but also to However, they can also provide a space that promotes "regeneration" in a broader sense for travelers. It was also understood that the eco-lodges can provide a space that encourages "regeneration" in a broad sense to the traveling public. Therefore, ELs have the potential to function as a travel destination different from mere lodging facilities.
