タイ国政府観光庁ならびに株式会社ダイヤモンド・ビッグ社が主催する「タイ旅行企画コンペ」に応募する学生の指導を行った．2014年度については，中村ゼミ3期生3名が参加し，最終選考まで残ったが，選に漏れる結果であった．2015年度については，「観光行動論」受講者有志を募り応募し，グランプリを獲得した．
