Tamagawa University's Center for International Programs offers short-term programs eligible for students from partner universities, conducting classes in English on Japan's current issues and challenges. Tourism is one of the themes covered, and the author is responsible for teaching this course. In this course, the lecturer covers three aspects of Japan's tourism landscape: Japanese outbound travel, foreign inbound travel to Japan, and overtourism. Students are required to write a reflection paper after the class. This report analyzes the content of these papers and reports on the differences in recognition between international and domestic students regarding the current state of tourism in Japan.
