This presentation is about the method and the results from a pilot study which investigates the effectiveness of a bilingual education program administered at home by Japanese parents. This is the first step in a longitudinal study and the purpose of this research is to raise parents’ and children’s awareness of English as a communication tool. Data is collected from the mothers’ reflection notes, interview and observation of their communication.
