長距離トラック輸送に従事する職業運転者を対象に運転走行前後の荷積み、荷降ろしによる筋的作業が運転者の心身にどのような影響を与えるかを明らかにし、総合的に職業運転者の負担の軽減を図り、今後の安全かつ効率的な職業運転者の労働環境整備の基礎的資料を得ることを目的とした。研究の結果、運転業務前後の筋的作業負担を軽減することにより、運転業務中の運転者に引き起こされる覚醒レベルや注意力が低下する可能性があることが明らかとなった。
