My research focuses on Japanese folk religion or folk beliefs, especially beliefs of professions, for example puja of plants, animals, and tools, and rituals for professional founders. I also aim to consider the connections among people in folk societies, using examples such as ko groups, which are religious groups, and communities that own common land.
