Auther for Correspodence;Japanese wild iris is a perennial plant of the Iridaceae that became the original species of traditional Japanese garden iris. As a result of investigating Japanese wild iris which grows naturally in Subariko Lake of the ShirakamiSanchi, a mutant individual, of which rim part and abaxial side of the outer perianth fragment were white, was discovered. Therefore, the mutant individual that has not been discovered in the natural habitat of Japanese wild iris in Japan is valuable as a germplasm resource for introducing new flower color variation to Japanese garden iris.
