My majors are socioligy of education and study of folklore in educational context. Especially I am interested in problems of social sonstruction of educational reality, teacher socialization, socio-cultural images of children and teachers in Japanese history. To explore these themes, I mainly use methods of discourse analysis and iconology.I am mainly in charge of classes related with sociology of education, life-long education, and teacher edcuation. No matter how the class size is big, I try to avoid one-sided lecture, and to conduct interactive communication with students, as far as possible, in order to activate their motivation to participate the classes.
