The modern translations, likely has other functions, not well-utilized yet, that would effectively contribute as an innovative teaching method or as a tool for students to better enjoy the waka poetry texts. The modern translations may have more of a primary role in today’s education or general understanding in the classical Waka, rather than viewed as a mere supplement to the original text. One must recognize the diverse meanings that multiple modern translations of any one classical Waka may offer to dynamically enrich one reader’s process of understanding the Waka, and to refine the reader’s final achievement of full immersion in the classical piece. Unlike having only one Modern translation, opening one’s mind to diverse translations that intersect with each other is aligned with the current century where diversity is recognized as a value in every element of the society. Reading "multiple modern translations" of any one classical piece promotes the intertextual enrichment to deepen the understanding of the original texts in any classical literature such as classical Waka.
