This professional development seminar invited all teaching staff to explore the profound connection between student agency and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Mission Statement. The seminar delved into how fostering agency empowers students to take ownership of their learning, enabling them to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who contribute meaningfully to a globalized world. Through collaborative discussions and reflective exercises, teachers examined the principles of agency within the context of IB pedagogy and its alignment with the IB Mission Statement; reflected on their practices and identify strategies to cultivate agency in their classrooms; and developed actionable plans to integrate agency into curriculum design, assessment, and everyday teaching practices.
