Summary

The researcher explored learner preferences for varieties of English used as target models, types of speaking tests, and the testing of grammar and pronunciation through oral-based assessment. Additionally, learner perceptions of how their English program studies might be helping to improve their speaking and listening were investigated. The purpose of this research was to explore learner preferences for consideration in the development of future pedagogical practices in a university-wide English language program, including the formulation of oral assessment and teaching content.
