Japanese learner preferences for varieties of English and oral assessment

Researchers investigated learners' preferences regarding target English models, types of speaking tests, and methods of oral assessment for grammar and pronunciation testing. Furthermore, they examined learners' perceptions of how English language programs contribute to improving their speaking and listening skills. The aim of this study is to explore learner preferences that should be considered in future educational practices across university-wide English language programs, particularly in oral assessment and content development.
