As the world continues to diversify linguistically and culturally due to globalization, there is a growing need to recognize that many English speakers are not English monolinguals but multilinguals who use English as part of their repertoire, or English as a Multilingua Franca (EMF) users. This report draws on my EMF-oriented pedagogy of utilizing students’ multilingual resources which helped students foster inclusive and flexible attitudes towards diversified Englishes, multilingualism, and multicultural understanding. In closing, I will reflect on my classroom practices, reporting on challenges and possible ways to enhance EMF-oriented pedagogy.
