環境教育は「総合的な学習の時間」で取り組むことが多いが、技術・家庭科としての環境教育の取り組みを考えたものである。他教科との連携を考え、横断的な学習であるクロスカリキュラムと、身近な木材を軸教材とする縦断的なセンタードカリキュラムをもとに指導計画を立案し、欧米の多くの学校で導入されているＳＴＳ教育の視点を取り入れた学習スタイルの授業実践を発表した。
