Summary

This study aims to examine the “learning side” of children’s education, which has been disregarded as beyond the teacher’s intention, and to clarify the factors that led the teacher to overlook it. Therefore, we re-examined our past practice of producing story-type commercials in the sixth grade of elementary school.
To avoid overlooking learning outside of the teacher’s intentions, it was found that (1) teachers should not regard their own practical knowledge as absolute, and (2) the value of practice should be given meaning by the relationship between the teacher and the learners (children), for which dialogue with the learners about practice is important.
