Global Citizenship Education (GCED) is a major educational programme which is pursued by UNESCO for the fostering of global citizenship. This study aims to analyze the cognitive, socio-emotional and behavioural skills to be developed by GCED. Through this analysis of skills, this study presented the argument that the formation of global citizenship identity contributes effectively to the development of the skills of perspective taking and dialogue, which can be recognized as the most crucial psychological foundation of intercultural conflict resolution.
