Summary

Even teachers supportive of ELF-oriented pedagogy may disrupt emancipatory curricular development if they are complicit with reductionist and technicist approaches to teaching and program administration. The presenter will examine how teachers might be implicated, consciously or unconsciously, in such professional “inconsistencies, intransigencies, and contradictions” (Toh, 2019).
