This paper examines the project-based course “Machida Marui Window Display Design Project,” a collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Arts at Tamagawa University and Machida Marui (Marui Co., Ltd.). In 2022, the project theme was changed to “Sustainability” in response to the Marui Group’s commitment to environmentally responsible business practices.
Focusing on the creation of sustainable window displays, this paper explores how students interpreted the theme, developed their design proposals, and carried out the production process, and discusses the achievements and challenges of the project.
