Currently, reforms to teachers' working styles are being promoted in schools. On the other hand, the increase in young teachers has brought to light challenges such as the transfer of experience and the weakening of the teaching system. In light of this situation, this research was conducted with the aim of examining how in-school lesson study can balance workload reduction with improvements in teaching skills and collegiality, in the context of work style reforms and changes in the teacher composition. As a result, we were able to find that workload reduction is not merely about efficiency in time and work, but also leads to increased motivation for improving lessons
